Listed as an active state wildfire support crew for over a decade
Multiple crew members deployed out of state with Pennsylvania’s state wildfire crew to fight wildfires in other areas of the country
What We’ve Achieved
Leadership frequently deployed as single-resource assets to assist other states in wildfire and large incident management
Assisting multiple state and local agencies in the management of prescribed fire burns to manage land and reduce the likelihood of future fire activity
Designated as Crew & Engine 907, NBWFC is based in south-eastern District 17, the William Penn Forest District, although the crew is routinely dispatched to fires in neighboring districts all over the Eastern portion of Pennsylvania.
Responding with a minimum of 10 firefighters with the crew’s type-6 engine and trailer of additional resources, NBWFC is dispatched to assist in major wildfire incidents when local resources are overwhelmed or need an experienced resource specifically equipped and trained for brush and wildfire suppression.
